Cathy’s journey started on the court, and led her to success as an Executive & Team Coach, Entrepreneur, Consultant & Speaker.
Cathy is a Leadership and Performance Coach. She provides executive leadership coaching to senior leaders and teams in their organizations. She is an International Coach Federation (ICF) Professional Certified Coach (PCC). She is certified in administering Coachability@Work® and TTI Success DISC, Driving Forces and Emotional Quotient assessments. She has a Master’s Degree in Sports Leadership from Concordia University and is a certified Vinyasa Yoga Teacher. She is also a Sr. Associate Director for the DeVos Sport Business Management Program at the University of Central Florida. Cathy is an entrepreneur with an extensive sports, marketing, media, teaching, & business background. She is experienced in building and operating organizations in the business and sports industry. She loves leading & thrives on challenging assignments. She is a dynamic public speaker & communicator.
Making A Difference
Cathy Andruzzi is a difference maker. Whether it has been, teaching, recruiting, business, marketing or broadcasting, Andruzzi makes an impact—not just on people, but on the bottom line. Andruzzi employs a teacher/CEO management style that is goal oriented. She loves leading and thrives on challenging assignments. She is an experienced public speaker and communicator. With an eye for talent, a mind for business, and the heart of a true leader, she delivers results.
Her passion for basketball blossomed on the playgrounds of New York City. Later, as a player at Queens College, she led her team to a #2 national ranking. Andruzzi subsequently moved into coaching at Wagner College and after two successful seasons, headed to East Carolina University (ECU) where her courtside strategies put the Lady Pirates on the map. She led ECU to the school’s first and only AP Top 20 ranking and NCAA Tournament appearance. During her stint at ECU, Andruzzi served as creator, executive producer and on-air talent for the Cathy Andruzzi Show, the nation’s first weekly women’s basketball coach’s television and radio show.
Thriving on Challenges
Andruzzi next ventured into the corporate world where she cut her teeth in the highly competitive environment of retailing. It was here that Andruzzi honed her skills in business and marketing as owner-operator of six successful Domino’s Pizza franchises in New Jersey. She was only the fourth woman franchisee in Domino’s Pizza history. With her success at the local level, Andruzzi was chosen to serve the company at both the national and regional levels. As a member of the Domino’s Pizza National Plans Board, Andruzzi and other select franchisees were responsible for development of the company’s national advertising campaign. As a board member and ultimately the president of Domino’s Pizza New York ADI, Andruzzi was responsible for representing fellow New York-New Jersey franchisees in determining regional marketing efforts.
Integrating business, sports and the media represented a natural progression for this strong communicator. As a television basketball analyst in 1996-1997, Andruzzi produced and marketed the Women’s Basketball Show and The Game of the Week, a national package of women’s basketball games. She also created and secured the sponsorship for the first TV special devoted to the NCAA women’s basketball tournament, The Dial NCAA Women’s Tournament Preview Show. Strong contacts and a top-notch reputation persuaded executives of the American Basketball League to tap Andruzzi as the General Manager of the Philadelphia Rage in 1997. In this capacity, Andruzzi held responsibility for player personnel, team operations, which included corporate sponsorship programs, ticket sales, marketing and public relations.
Andruzzi thrives on big projects and tackles them with discipline and focus while achieving quantifiable results. Those traits became evident as Andruzzi spearheaded one of the biggest sporting events in the country – the 2000 NCAA Women’s Final Four. As Executive Director of the local organizing committee, Philadelphia Women’s Basketball 2000, Andruzzi spearheaded the creation of PWB2000 logo and developed the branding, marketing and fundraising strategy. Andruzzi also supervised the planning and organizing of the 2000 NCAA Women’s Final Four for the host city of Philadelphia. Under her leadership, the Final Four won local and national accolades and fundraised the highest total in NCAA history for women’s basketball. Following the 2000 NCAA Women’s Final Four, Andruzzi joined Knowledge Flow as Senior Vice President of Marketing where she oversaw the marketing and strategic launch program for a new software package.

Following her stint at Fordham, Andruzzi returned to the business world where she is managed her own consulting firm, Druzz Ltd., through which she is a strategic advisor for several organizations. In 2015 she consulted Rutgers University on the development of the Global Sports Business Masters Program where she provided direction and strategic advice relative to launch. She became a faculty member of the program where she taught Sports Leadership and Ethics. Andruzzi is also a Sr. Associate Director for the DeVos Sport Business Management Program at the University of Central Florida and an Advisor at University of North Carolina Kenan Institute Sport Entrepreneurship. During the Spring 2013 semester she was an Entrepreneur-In-Residence for the Sports Business Ventures course at the UNC. Whether leading the charge from the bench, in front of the camera or as a highly skilled business executive and motivational speaker, Andruzzi’s enthusiasm and presence inspires everyone.
